Sleeping Babies

There is something about a sleeping baby that melts my heart.

That REALLY REALLY melts my heart!

I have four young children who are very close in age. So needless to say there are times in the day when things can get very chaotic. But there are also great moments in the day that happen, even though they don't usually happen for very long, or as often as I would like them, they are there, and at times I feel like my heart will burst with love for my children. And those moments carry me through the "down in the trenches" mothering moments of every day life. One of the moments is when morning comes and I wake up before the kids, ( which more often than not they wake up first) and I can enjoy the peace and quiet and watch them sleep. Its one of those moments I wish I could bottle up and keep forever. I know eighteen years from now I will be willing to do anything if I could open up a bottle and repeat this moment in time, even if it were just for a few minutes. To see my baby's eyelashes resting on their soft little cheeks, and to hear their tender baby breathing as they sleep. To just cuddle next to a tiny baby. They smell so good and their little footy jammies just make you want to squeeze them!

To be able to check on a toddler who has been busy all day and is now so peaceful.

Or a busy little boy who has played so hard all day, and has now made a bed in the hall on his giant teddy bear.

And then that moment when they first wake up, and they smile a giant smile at the very first sight of you, and not to mention morning eyes. I LOVE morning eyes!

I LOVE these moments!!!!

And when they come running into your room excited to see you and announcing the fact that they are awake! I LOVE morning smiles! Messy hair and all.
