Missionary Cookies

My kids love their cousin Jordan. Dakota has become his little side kick. Jordan takes him places with him quite often. He goes with him to check cows on the mountain, fix fences, water cows, drive tractors, and chop corn in the deisel. I dont know what Dakota is going to do without him for two years.

Jordan has been preparing for a mission and the kids wanted to do something to help out. At family night one monday we came up with the idea of making and selling cookies to earn money to give him for his mission. That night the kids sat down and made a flyer to take around to aunts and unlces to see if they wanted to buy any cookies. They got all their orders and on the next monday we spent the day baking chocolate chip cookies and making bags that looked like a missionaries shirt and tie to put them in.

The kids all worked hard and each one of them did their part, I was very proud of them for serving their cousin.

After we spent hours getting the cookies prepared it was time to go deliver the cookies. The kids took the cookies to each person that ordered them and collected their money. They raised $103!!!

The original plan was to tell Jordan what they did and suprise him with the money on the day he got his mission call, but the kids couldn't wait they HAD to tell him that day. So we called Jordan over to grandmas house and had him sit on the couch. The kids gave him a bag of cookies, a copy of the flyer that they had made, and the money in an envelope. It brought Jordan to tears and Dakota said
" I knew you were going to do that!"

A couple of weeks later Jordan received his misson cal to Eugene Oregon! We love you Jordan and know you will be a great missionary!
