Our family likes to go camping a lot, and we usually dutch oven when we go, so we decided on monday nights in June we would have our own family night and then get together and have dutch oven dinner together. We did it with Melissa and Mindy and their families, and each monday we take turns doing main dish, side dish and dessert, and it has to be a new recipe.
This monday Melissa did dutch oven pizza, and Mindy did bread sticks that we roasted over the fire on our biscuit sticks.
I did strawberry shortcake for dessert. We got these cool new sticks that you wrap biscuit dough around and then cook the dough over the fire, when its done you have a bread cup type thing that you can fill with anything, like omelet stuff for breakfast, Navajo taco stuff for a dinner, or whatever you can think of. For the strawberry shortcake I did refrigerator biscuit dough and sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on it, then when the dough was cooked we filled them with strawberries mixed in with danish dessert and whip cream. YUM!!
