Famiily Night Back to School Fashion Show!

Melissa had the best idea for family night, she always has tons of great ideas like this. The monday before school started we had a back to school fashion show. Mindy, Britney, and I made the back to school apple cupcakes, Melissa made each person a "sack lunch" and a goodie bag, we had a lesson from the scriptures about the importance of learning, and then each kid got to pick two of thier favorite school outfits and they all did a fashion show. We really had a lot of fun, when each kid came out we all took pictures, clapped, whistled, and yelled. The kids all got into it and did model poses, Jordan did a dance, and grandpa performed an intermission routine! Afterward Mike and I took our kids home, got them ready for bed, and then we went into the living room, and Mike gave Brielle and Dakota each a priesthood blessing to start the school year off good. i am very thankful to have a husband who is worthy and willing to give my kids blessings!!

Melissa made a goodie bag with crayons, pencils, and smarties to make you smarter, and tied a scripture on it about learning.

These pictures are of Brielle and Dakota on the first day of school, they looked so cute and were both super excited to go to school, and yes I bawled at the bus stop, and at the breakfast that the parents go to at the school the day before, and clear back in May when I ran into the school to pick up thier papers for them to get thier school physicals, but I think I'm good now! Brielle had Mrs. Swallow and Dakota has Miss Guilette and they are both really good teachers!

Our Date!!!

A couple of saturdays ago Mike and I went on a double date with Travis and Angie Archibald. We went up Fillmore canyon and rode up the Mountain Sheep trail.We had a really fun time, it is always so nice to be able to get away and do something alone with Mike.

Jackson Reunion 2010

We went up Kanosh canyon for the Jackson reunion year, we camped for three days, and we had a great time.

One morning we took the kids up to a pond and caught TONS of lepord frogs!!

Of course boys and dirt go hand in hand this dirt pile entertained them for hours!!!

And of course the boys went on a ride one of the afternoons, here is Koda on Libby, he thinks he is so big!

Mike and the guys went on a horse ride over night, and we all know when you go camping you always forget things, especially when there are no women going, when they went to cook dinner they realized they forgot a spoon to stir the dinner in the dutch ovens, so they got a branch and narrowed it out like a spoon. Then when they went to dish the dinner they realized they fogot plates so they cut a tree into slices and made thier own plates!! Creative thinking!

Playhouse!!!

Mike has been building the kids a playhouse for the past week, he has been working so hard on it he still has to make the sandbox under the playhouse, build a picnic table by the ladder, and finish a few other things on it, but its almost done, and the kids have been LOVING it!

The little window in the back has a telescope in it, so the kids can spot wild Indians, coyotes, and deer!

Last night for family night we read a story from the Friend and then had treats and watched a movie, we were planning on sleeping out in it, but we got rained out, so we might try again tonight, we were pretty bummed because we had our beds all made up, but Im sure there will be plenty of future nights to sleep out in it!

Im still trying to decide what to do in the inside, should I just leave it and let them have lots of playing space, or should I put something in there, tables and chairs or something like that?
